Hi again! Like our last post? All the "read more" buttons must have frustrated the viewers. Of course, there is a way to rid of them (you simply click on the post and it enlarges). But that isn't what we're here to talk about. Sorry I haven't been doing many DIYs recently, but I'm sure it's good to have variety. I think I'm going to start putting up pictures of the week in my posts. You'll have to stay 'till the end to see them. Anyway, on with the photos!
How many of you have wanted to create a beautiful eBook for your customers . . . Just can't figure out how? As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have the latest generation of a chromebook, so I don't have awesome programs like paint.net Anyone can use PicMonkey So sorry I have not been posting! I think I haven't . . . I just usually have about three scheduled for posting, but I just got busy. This didn't even happen around the holidays! Anyway, you might be wondering about the title. First of all, what do you mean "Mini Post Week 1"? Isn't just supposed to say "Mini Post"? Well, not today. I will schedule this post for 9:00 PM on Saturday like I always do, but today is Wednesday. I have lots of things to catch up on, and I don't have time to also make a full post. So, what happens with mini posts is that when we get to four weeks in total, that would mean I am a whole month behind on blogging. YOU comment or I will have a friend of mine choose any alterations I need to make on the website. WHEN and IF we get to 12 months, (which I reaaaally hope not) I will put text under our logo picture and add "A Website Crafted by Viewers", because you guys have been working on this site for a year. But, who even knows if we'll get that far? It's all under my command, although, not really. As the years tick by, though, I am going to get busier and busier and it is possible that could happen.
Goodbye! Elephant Lover I was reflecting back on all of our DIYS, and I realized for the poster, not everyone was able to do that. If you have a chromebook, as I do now, you couldn't access WORD and WORD costs money to install on your computer. So now I am doing an elephant awareness slide with Google Docs. Google Docs is basically like an online, free WORD. WORD has many more themes and fonts, etc. but it's better than nothing. Step 1: Open Google Docs and select slideshow. You will see this popup, asking you to choose a theme. Although Sketched or Trek might look the coolest, we want to stay serious (I know, not my specialty) throughout the whole slideshow. Let's choose Swiss, because I'm just laying on the basics at the moment.
Step 2: Make a Title Hey there! Do you want to help me raise elephant awareness? Cool. I'll help you set up your own website.
Step 1: Choose your website developer. For this tutorial, we'll be using Weebly. My computer screenshot isn't working at the moment. I will contact the app and when it works again I'll update this post. Sorry! Step 2: Click "site" and select your theme Because we're just starting out, choose the theme white theme on the right. Step 3: Choose your new URL A URL is your site name. Choose something simple, but you can always change it later. For now, let's work with a free domain. Here is advice from a Weebly Support Article: |
